It began last night, packing up the way-too-big messenger bag with clothing, food, and more clothing for the ride home. The commute began at 4:45, in the a.m., which is much too early, but it is necessary if I am going to be at school on time, able to change and at least rub on some deoderant before class. The temperature a surprisingly warm 30ish degrees (the extra clothes are for the ride home, when it will be around 40)
It was uneventful to start, the legs warmed up a bit and I was moving along nicely. Then the button on my light changed from blue to red. This is not a good sign. 8 minutes later I was cruising down the back roads of Milton, VT with only a flasher on my back and a rough guess as to where the potholes were. Luckily, I didn't steer into any big ones, and I managed to stay away from oncoming traffice. The sun was up about an hour later, so I will charge my light tonight for Wednesday's ride in. Now the only thing left to do today is ride home, for a total of four hours commuting.
Doesn't that sound like fun?
