Let it snow

Lots and lots of snow. Hopefully ski tomorrow morning. I got to run yesterday, a tempo run with the dogs and some rollers today. We got about a foot today. I am hoping to get up early tomorrow and ski in Alexandria, which could be good, real good. I should go to bed.

What a week.

Well, finals are done, we had our interview, drove for ten hours, wrote comments, proofread my wife's comments, walked the dogs, and rode rollers for an hour. Not too shabby, methinks. Yesterday was the drive up in two different snow squalls, with 1/2 an hour on the erg. Not fun. My back still hurts. Today was rollers, with pedalling drills (5 x 1minute each foot) Lots of fun. The school seems cool, but we have to wait and see. Hopefully we will get a chance to see other schools, and then make our decision. Either way, we have a good idea of what it can be like.

Finally

Finals week is almost over!! The finals are done, all I have now is correcting and one class to write comments for. I am pretty excited, about being done and going to LP for the interview. Tonight, I tried something new. 1 hour on the rollers, with 3 sets of 6 minute one footed pedalling drills. I think it is the hardest I have worked on rollers this year. Hopefully it will be beneficial.
Plan on running tomorrow morning, then riding (maybe even outside) on Sunday. If I do, I might even put up photos.

Slowshoeing

Is lots of fun. Almost an hour and a half followed by 45 minutes of chasing the dogs through a grove of red pines. So many squirrels, so little time, and my dogs have to harass all of them. Anyway, snowshoe running still sucks, but I feel like it is helping me get in shape. We will see.

Finals suck

This week we have finals. Yesterday I did nothing. Today I rolled for 1.5 hours. I can't wait to get outside. I ordered my uni for the summer. Maybe that will be exciting for a few minutes. I hope we find a new place to work. This just isn't fun.

The grand tour

Last night, decided it would be a good idea to ride late at night, because 24 hour races happen at night. I rode the rollers for 2 hours while watching American Gangsta. (it sounds more badass if you don't pronounce the r) Several one foot pedalling drills.
Today was my first voyage to the Mount Cardigan trails. Two old down mountain trails, a 7 mile loop. Timber and I had fun in the new snow, checking out the fire tower and the summit slabs. The skiing was entertaining, but nothing too hairy. I hope to take my wife there sometime.

Roller Derby

With temps in the negative teens, I have hung the running shoes up to dry and I have been rollin',rollin',rollin'. Not too bad, but I have know idea why a bike that was so comfortable on the road can be so painful on rollers. All my shorts seem to be irking me, too. Oh well. It will make it that much better when I bundle up and get outside in about two months.........okay, three months.

Freshies

Snowshoe running is hard. Snowshoe running in a few inches of fresh snow, on top of a crust with a few inches of soft snow beneath it, is even harder. I ran for 1 hour, and felt it. Dogs came with me, smelled a few snowmobiles and even heard a couple. I think I need to find some better pants for slowshoe running. The snow clings so much I had to brush myself off with the car scraper.

The Shining

An hour on the rollers today, an hour yesterday. Not very exciting, but the shining was on tonight. It is a really good, scary, creepy movie. I hope I can keep with the daily exercise. I think it will help with this summer. I want to be fast.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling.

Rollers again today.  Not much time to get prepared for a run, with wifey sick and a game to coach, and classes and preparation for hiking Lafayette tomorrow.  I rode for 1.5 hours, while watching "La femme Nikita"   I hope to watch enough foreign films while rolling that I can speak some French when I get to France in March.   That should work, shouldn't it?

Wow.

Rollers can be so much fun.

Not really, but they are a good change of pace from running. I don't know how my wife does it, running as much as she does, but good for her.
Rollers for 45 minutes with 1 leg pedalling drills was good for me yesterday.

Today, snowshoe running. Yup, snowshoe running. Take something that isn't terrificly fun, and make it harder. That is snowshoe running. But, maybe I built some character today.

I sure hope so.

Attackpoint.com is pretty cool. Maybe I can find a way to link it to my wicked cool blog.

Winter Break

Lots of fun. Skiing was great the first four days, then horrible, then getting good again when I tweak my ankle and then go back to school.

I have also started running more, including a short run with the dogs today at the dam.

Hopefully I can run and lose some weight before I start working at the bar.

Oh yeah, and I detest the show "the hills" and "the city" and anything else that involves those uber spoiled glam twits.
